Where work becomes a place worth sitting in.

The Monday Desk Note

One workspace, one system, one honest review — sent every Monday morning before you sit down.

About Bureau

We believe the desk deserves the same care as any other room.

Bureau started in 2020 as a shared spreadsheet of desk photos between two remote coworkers. It's now a small independent studio publishing weekly, still with no sponsored product placements.

Our approach

Tested at our own desks first

Every guide we publish has been built at least once, by someone on staff, in a real room with real constraints — not a studio set. Every product in a buying guide sits under one of our desks for a minimum of four weeks before it earns a place on the list.

We're not against nice things. We're against pretending a beautiful desk photograph is the same thing as a workspace that actually works for the person sitting at it.
